SUNYIT names director of career services
SUNYIT President Wolf Yeigh has appointed Sim Covington, Jr. of Schenectady as director of career services at SUNYIT.
"We're pleased to welcome Sim to the SUNYIT family," said Wolf
Yeigh, president of SUNYIT. "We have a long history of
connecting the classroom experience to the world of work, and I
know that Sim's expertise will serve our students well."
A native of New York City, Covington
previously served as assistant director of the Hudson Valley
Community College Center for Careers and Employment; he also
served as an instructor in HVCC’s School of Business. He
holds the following degrees from the University at Albany:
master of science in educational administration and policy
studies, master of science in rehabilitation counseling,
certificate of advanced study in school counseling, and bachelor
of arts in psychology.
SUNYIT, the State University of New York Institute of
Technology at Utica/Rome, offers undergraduate and graduate
degree programs in technology and professional studies. Recently
launched academic programs include a bachelor of science in
civil engineering and a master of science in network &
computer security. SUNYIT's career services office works closely
with employers and provides resources for students: workshops
and strategies for developing a career plan, creating a résumé,
finding internships and full-time jobs, and making a successful
career transition.
