DeWITT, N.Y. – Ron Perlman's filmmaking plans for Central New York sound a lot like a Hollywood script.

"Middle class guy makes enough money to put food on the table, raise his kids, put them through school and retire with dignity," Perlman told reporters today while standing in an Onondaga County soundstage under construction. "That's what we're trying to bring back to Central New York."

Think "Field of Dreams" meets "It's a Wonderful Life" – with some "Hellboy" attitude thrown in.

New York has green lit the idea. It's bringing Perlman's Wing and a Prayer Pictures movie company into the $15 million film production site just off Exit 7 on Interstate 481 in DeWitt. He'll be the second tenant at the Central New York Hub for Emerging Nano Industries.
