SUNY College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering's Central New York hub for emerging nano industries has finished construction.

And this week, the first movie shot there - 'American Dresser' wrapped production. With two tenants so far, it's one of many films expected to be made at the studio.

Millions of dollars are expected to be pumped into the local economy from those productions - but SUNY leaders in charge of the hub say it's about more than just money.

"it's about anchoring the industry here, building the innovation, connections. building the education. so we keep feeding the industry.

As opposed to other states when the incentives ran out, everybody left." Officials say a film training program with local colleges and universities is in the works.

American Dresser is expected to be released sometime next year.
