It’s Pi Day and what better way to celebrate, than with pie. In honor of the holiday, SUNY Polytechnic Institute changed their name to ’SUNY Pi' for the day and visited schools throughout the region.

At Troy Middle School, the ‘Pi Patrol' worked with 8th grade students and showed them how tomeasure pi with a pencil and how to operate an led light. The pi patrol also brought pizza pies.

Assistant Vice President of student affairs, says they hope the "pi patrol" visit will excite students about math and science. “They have a really bright future ahead of them in math and science, through SUNY Polytechnic Institute, both locally here in our region and across the state." The 'pi patrol' also brought experiments and pizza to Mont Pleasant Middle School in Schenectady and William S. Hackett Middle School in Albany.
