New York state's solar industry added 2,070 jobs in 2014, according to the Solar Foundation, a group that tracks such data...
...The good thing is that New York is way out in front in solar research, which in the long run will drive high-paying scientific job employment and manufacturing, which is tough to come by.
New York ranked third in the U.S. in solar patents between 2010 and 2014.
A lot of that is likely being driven by SUNY Polytechnic Institute and General Electric Co.
