Town officials will honor first responders who rescued residents from a Jan. 24 fire at 7 Ayre Drive.

A ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday in Town Hall.

A child and two adults were rescued. Six residents got out safely, but four were taken to SUNY Upstate Medical Center for treatment.

The home was occupied by Daniel Morrissey, 40, and his sons, Aidan, 6, and Tyler, 5, and Morrissey's sister, Christine Sawyer, 51, and her grandchildren Michael, 6, and Giovianni, 4. Resident Amanda Sawyer was not home at the time.

Also Thursday SUNY Polytechnic Institute said it has raised more than $3,200 for the fire victims via an online donation page.
