Delegates from both industry and government in Japan will be touring SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s ZEN building on Tuesday , a big deal for both the institute and Japan.

Japan has invested heavily in research on ZEN, considered to be one of the world’s largest energy-sustainable office building. Japan is at the cutting edge of the use of both solar and the construction of so-called zero energy buildings, and the Japanese government has a partnership with SUNY Poly to study how the ZEN building works.

ZEN is designed to be super energy efficient and its energy usage will be offset by a large solar farm.
