Shahedipour-Sandvik has a high-profile role as the head of the
Nanoengineering Constellation, a signal to both men and women
that a woman can lead and succeed in a field dominated by men.
She brought in more than $3 million to SUNY over the last nine
years to fund research at the colleges.
