TITLE IX on the 9th

In March, SUNY Poly’s Title IX Working Group provided the campus community with SUNY Poly’s Sexual Violence Victim/Survivor Bill of Rights.  The Bill of Rights was originally developed by SUNY as part of the SUNY-wide uniform sexual violence prevention and response policies that were passed by SUNY Board of Trustees’ in the fall of 2014 at the request of Governor Cuomo and under the guidance of Chancellor Nancy Zimpher.  As a result of the new “Enough is Enough” legislation to Combat Sexual Assault on College Campuses that was signed into law by Governor Andrew Cuomo in July, our Students’ Bill of Rights has been modified and the appropriate changes have been incorporated into our Student Handbook.

The Students’ Bill of Rights outlines the rights, protections, and remedies available to all students, and ensures that all parties will be treated with respect and dignity when disclosing crimes of sexual violence, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.  SUNY Poly’s Sexual Violence Victim/Survivor Bill of Rights available at the Policies and Procedures page of Title IX website  (https://www.sunypoly.edu/titleix/policies-procedures), and is prominently posted at locations throughout both our sites.

If you have any questions regarding the Students’ Bill of Rights, please contact the Title IX Coordinators at titleix@sunypoly.edu.

Thank you,
