In Oneida County jail, 186 inmates admitted in 2013 were admitted heroin users.
Last year, 538 admitted inmates used heroin, Sheriff Robert Maciol said Tuesday night at a community forum on drugs at SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Marcy. The forum, which was attended by several dozen people, was organized by The Genesis Group and SUNY Poly and hosted by WKTV.
