Utica Observer-Dispatch: SUNY leaders gather to urge state
investment in higher education

MARCY - Leaders from SUNY campuses Monday called upon local elected officials to support New York’s public higher education by creating a new Investment Fund and extending NYSUNY in the 2015-16 state budget.
Officials met at SUNY Polytechnic Institute at SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
“As demonstrated by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s successful innovation and education-driven economic development model, higher education is an essential part of a vibrant economy,” Alain E. Kaloyeros, SUNY Poly president and chief executive officer, said in a news release. “The future of New York state depends on a workforce that is educated and dedicated to making their world a better place.
