Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - Governor Andrew Cuomo paid a visit to the Riverbend complex on Tuesday, where he watched a topping off ceremony as the last piece of structural steel was placed on the building that will soon house SolarCity.

"On the gravesite of the old economy where Republic Steel stood, now rises a beautiful monument to Buffalo's future," Cuomo said.

SolarCity is expected to hire over 1,000 people to work at the facility, which Cuomo said is a big difference from the plans of the past.
