WKTV: Products made in Mohawk Valley take center stage at SUNY PI

Friday was National Manufacturing Day, and on display at SUNY PI -- products made in the Mohawk Valley.

College and high school students visited the school to learn that manufacturing jobs are still a good career option. On hand to demonstrate that were 25 local companies that manufacture products right here in Central New York.

In 2012, the average manufacturing worker in the U.S. earned more than $77,000 annually.

"Everyone is focused on getting through the next week of school, getting through these exams, getting through those exams," said Robert Geer, SUNY PI chief operating officer. "The most important thing for the students is 'What really excites me?' 'What do I find interesting?" because that's what they have a passion for."
