SUNY Poly’s College of Arts and Sciences Works in Progress Seminar continues on Friday, March 31 as Adam McClain, Assistant Professor of Biology speaks about his research, Biodiversity in Madagascar.

"Madagascar is a recognized biodiversity hotspot, and home to unique radiations of endemic species,” Dr. McClain says. “Many of these lineages are highly endangered due to human impact on the environment. I'll be discussing various species found in Madagascar (lemurs, in particular, but also reptiles, amphibians and birds), what the future likely holds for wildlife on the island, as well as what efforts are being made to catalogue and conserve the rich biodiversity found there."

Another Works in Progress Seminar is scheduled for Friday, April 21 featuring Assistant Professor of Biochemistry Dr. Naryan Sharma discussing Structure-Function Studies on CYP2A13 Enzyme.

The mission of these seminars are to foster awareness about the research interests among faculty and students, improve communication about the topic, and encourage future research opportunities.

All presentations will take place in Donovan Hall 2132 from 1 – 2 p.m.
