The SUNY system will likely raise its minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour next week. Governor Cuomo announced the proposed increase in New York City this morning. It would affect 28,000 workers in the state university system.

The SUNY Board of Trustees still has to approve the measure. They're expected to do so at their next meeting, which is next Monday and Tuesday.

The increase would affect all employees at SUNY Poly in Marcy.

We reached out to university officials for comment. One of them said… "SUNY Polytechnic Institute applauds Governor Andrew Cuomo and today's historic announcement increasing the minimum wage for state university workers to $15. SUNY Poly fully supports and will proudly implement the increase."
