Quad-C Community Day is part of a series of statewide events in Albany, Utica, and Rochester to promote the exciting world of nanoscale science and explain its many opportunities through presentations and fun, hands-on activities and tours. This event, part of SUNY Poly’s annual celebration of “NANOvember," is an opportunity for the public to experience the progress of ‘Nano Utica,’ made possible by the leadership and vision of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, and learn more about this exciting aspect of SUNY Polytechnic Institute.

The event is free and will take place on Saturday, November 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at SUNY Poly’s location in Utica. The day will include tours of the Quad-C building; presentations about Nano Utica, Quad-C, and the Marcy NanoCenter project; and additional presentations by other Nano Utica Partners. You’ll learn more about Governor Cuomo's $1.5 billion 'Nano Utica' initiative and what it means to the community; with an annual operating budget to exceed $500 million, the Quad-C will result in the creation of 1,500 high-tech jobs, groundbreaking academic programs, and cutting-edge workforce training opportunities.

Additionally, SUNY Poly students will host hands-on nano activities for young visitors to provide them with a dramatic and fun introduction to the physics and chemistry behind nanotechnology applications, including vanishing jelly marbles that demonstrate light refraction and energy balls that illustrate how open and closed circuits work, among other activities. We encourage you and your family to attend and participate in these exciting activities.

Advance registration for this free community event is required. Please register online at: https://www.sunypoly.edu/communityday
