Mission Statement 

The mission of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Wellness Center is to empower each student to pursue optimum personal health and well-being to achieve academic success.  This is accomplished by providing primary clinical and mental health care services, including diagnostics, treatment and follow-up care for all registered students, along with ongoing health promotion and education

All Breaks: Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Appointments are preferred, however walk-ins are welcome. Last patient is seen at 45 minutes before closing.

Appointments are recommended, although the SHC will take walk-ins (which may result in a longer wait time).

Students should bring their SUNY Poly ID card and insurance card; the applicable co-pay for your plan will apply.

  • General medical evaluation for acute problems such as fevers, respiratory illnesses, stomach pains, sprains / strains, skin rashes, minor emergencies
  • Evaluation of sports-related injuries
  • Onsite lab testing and x-ray
  • Referrals to subspecialty care
  • General OB/GYN care
  • Pap smears and routine pelvic exams
  • Pregnancy testing and referrals
  • Screening, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections
  • Contraceptive counseling, prescription and management
  • Flu Shots

Students without transportation may utilize Action Transportation, a local non-emergency medical transportation company, via a complimentary voucher.   Students may obtain a voucher by visiting the Student Services suite Monday - Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, or by visiting the NFE Security Desk at any time.  Vouchers are also available at Cresthill Suites via Brittany Perrin, Residence Director.  The cost of transportation to and from Student Health Services is covered by your health fee.  The phone number for Action Transportation is 518-649-3366 and is also listed on the voucher.
