Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)

About SUNY Poly’s Educational Opportunity Program

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at SUNY Polytechnic Institute makes it possible for talented students who have limited financial resources and are academically underprepared to attend a SUNY college, earn a degree, and achieve their life goals. EOP offers a real chance to start college strong and stay supported from your first day on campus through graduation. With personalized guidance, a close-knit community, and essential resources designed to help you thrive, EOP empowers students to turn potential into achievement and goals into reality.

How EOP Supports You

EOP helps students reach their full potential by focusing on their strengths, offering comprehensive services and personalized support throughout their college journey.

  • Modest Financial Support: EOP funding helps cover your overall cost of attendance, plus you receive personalized help navigating financial aid.
  • Academic Success: Access weekly study sessions, peer tutoring, EOP workshops, and advising to stay on track and plan for grad school or career goals.
  • One-on-One Support: Meet regularly with your dedicated EOP counselor for support with all aspects of your college and personal life—they’re here for your whole journey!
  • Peer Mentoring & Leadership: Get support from upper-level EOP students who’ve been where you are, then train to become a leader yourself as a tutor or peer coach.
  • Community & Belonging: Become part of a close-knit EOP family from day one with mentoring, connections, and a support system that lifts you up and gives back.
  • Summer Academy Kickstart: As a first-year student, begin your SUNY Poly journey with confidence through EOP’s Pre-Freshman Summer Academy, an early opportunity to earn credits, build community, and prepare for college-level coursework in a supportive, welcoming environment. Learn more about EOP Summer Academy.
  • Real-World Readiness: Stay connected with workshops and opportunities—from internships and scholarships to time management and financial wellness tips.
  • Culture, Community & Celebration: Enjoy traditions like the annual EOP Family Dinner, plus programs that celebrate identity, culture, and community spirit.
  • EOP Connections: Meet professionals, SUNY Poly alumni, and EOP grads at on-campus events, hear their stories, and build connections that inspire your college and career journey.
