What should I bring?

There are a number of items that you can bring to make your new room feel more like home. Some of these items are:

  • Linen and pillows. Mattresses are 80" long, 36" wide, and 6" deep.
    Extra long twin sheets seem to fit best.

  • Refrigerator (one 4.0 cubic feet or less refrigerator is permitted per room)

Sending Trunks
Trunks may be sent to yourself at the address below. Make sure that all items you have shipped ahead are clearly marked with your name and address. You will be able to pick up any shipped items when you arrive on campus. Inquire at check-in about any items that you shipped.

  • Bathroom cleaning supplies (residents are responsible for cleaning your own bathroom)

  • Decorative Shower Curtain ( Residential Life provides a shower curtain but you can also bring one to make it feel more like home)
  • Refrigerator (ONE 4.0 cubic feet or less is permitted per room and must be shared)

  • Curtains or any kind of window or wall hanging (flags or tapersities)

  • LED adhesive strip lights. Do NOT adhere LED strip lights to your residence hall walls, ceiling or carpet.

We discourage the use of "Command Strips." Most students forget those adhesive strips are behind their posters, photos, etc. and end up ripping off large chunks of paint and drywall, which results in a charge for an entire wall patch and paint after move out. We'd prefer that you go ahead and use a pin or very small nail for your items, which are more likely to be easily and inexpensively repaired.
