Broad-based fees are charged to all students to support the institution, activities, and/or services.

College Fee:
This mandatory fee was established by the State University Board of Trustees under Resolution No. 63.22, September 1, 1963. The fee is $25.00 per semester for full-time students (registered in 12 or more credit hours) and $1.70 per credit hour for part-time students (registered in less than 12 credit hours). The fee is collected by all units of the State University System. The College Fee is not refundable under ordinary circumstances.
Intercollegiate Athletics Fee:
The Intercollegiate Athletics Fee is a mandatory fee for all students. This fee supports the operation and enhancement of the campus’s competitive intercollegiate athletics programs, as well as a broad range of student services and wellness opportunities. These include access to intramural sports, the fitness center, the field house, the athletic fields and admission to varsity sport home contests. In addition to on-campus offerings, students also benefit from virtual wellness resources, livestreamed athletic events, and online fitness and health education programming that are accessible regardless of location.
Student Activity Fee:
The Student Activity Fee is a mandatory fee for all students. This fee supports all co-curricular experiences sponsored and coordinated through the Student Association (SUNY Poly's student government entity). Opportunities for engagement include social, cultural, and educational programming, intercollegiate Esports, Wildcat tv and radio stations, as well as involvement in a vast array of student-led clubs and organizations. A broad range of leadership, involvement, and career readiness opportunities made possible through this fee are available to all students.
Health Services Fee:
The Student Health Services Fee is not health insurance and is a mandatory fee for all students supporting the services provided by the Wellness Center, including medical (licensed clinical staff, office visits, medications/supplies); mental health counseling (licensed clinical staff, unlimited individual therapy and outreach programs); wellness promotion (wellness coaching, yoga/meditation, massage, smoking cessation, health education, etc.); as well as Public Health Law immunization compliance requirements for students.
The Wellness Center services are an important function to support student success and well-being. Services also include Tele-Medicine/Tele-Counseling offerings to accommodate online & commuter students. The STPN-SUNY Tele-Psychiatry Network Program, provides psychiatry and counseling services including medication management for students through remote sessions provided by clinicians at SUNY Upstate Medical University’s Department of Psychiatry. Wellness support programs and online trainings are offered including access to the Wellness Student Portal myhealth.sunypoly.edu and social media campaigns. Online trainings have been expanded to include the eCHECKUP TO GO alcohol and cannabis programs. Each year, prevention initiatives such as the on-campus flu vaccination clinic(s), and the college and community wellness fair are offered. Students may also enjoy free access to the Self-Care station which includes an array of over-the-counter medical supplies and self-care, mental health items.
*Please note that this health service fee does not provide coverage for any injury or illness that requires off campus services such as ambulance, urgent care or hospital services. Students are expected to have health insurance to cover these services.
Technology Fee:
The Technology Fee, mandatory for all students, funds technology support, services, and infrastructure upgrades for classrooms, labs, and online instruction. It covers internet, wifi, email, student-specific software, and licensing, while supporting hyflex technology for hybrid learning, enabling permanent online or on-campus delivery for programs like business. It also facilitates Eduroam for internet access near participating SUNY campuses and VPN upgrades for remote learning in programs like Computer Science and Network Security. This fee is non-refundable under normal circumstances.
Career Services Fee:
The Career Services Fee is a mandatory fee used to support students while enrolled, as a recent graduate or in the future as a SUNY Poly alum. The fee supports the office's ability to provide internship and job search assistance, develop interview skills and create an effective resume. It also funds software platforms like Handshake and Big Interview and supports career-related activities.
Course Fees:
Certain courses require laboratory or course fees which range from $15 to $350 depending on the course. Refunds are generally available to students who officially withdraw from the College during the first week of the semester, drop the course during the first week or under other potential extraordinary circumstances approved by the President of SUNY Poly or designee.
Broad-Based Fee Waivers:
Waivers for Broad-Based Fees may be granted in rare occasions for students experiencing extenuating circumstances which prevent their ability to pay for the Broad-Based Fees and continue with their enrollment. A waiver request form can be found HERE. Waiver requests are reviewed by a committee.
