To formally matriculate, you must submit final, official transcripts from colleges previously attended with your degrees posted on them. Your financial aid will not be released until these are received.

Students seeking transfer credit at the time of admission must provide official transcripts to the Graduate Admissions Office at SUNY Poly. Only graduate courses with a grade of A, A-, B+, or B and completed less than seven years prior to matriculation are transferable. If your graduate program does not include any elective courses, a potential transfer course must be equivalent to a course within your graduate program curriculum. Please submit the electronic Academic Petition to the attention of graduate@sunypoly.edu with supporting documents (course descriptions and syllabi) for each course you would like reviewed for transfer credit. You should be specific in your academic petition and identify what courses you have taken, and identify what course within SUNY Poly’s curriculum the course should be reviewed for transfer credit. Ultimately the department will review and make a final decision.

Students in graduate degree programs must complete at least 27 semester hours of graduate credit in residence at SUNY Poly. This requirement will limit the amount of transfer credits allowed.

  • The amount of transfer credits allowed, as well as how old a course can be for transfer consideration may vary by program.
