Dr. Keith Levatino

Dr. Keith Levatino is a SUNY alumnus having received an A.S. from SUNY Adirondack and a B.A., B.S., M.S. and C.A.S. from SUNY Plattsburgh. He also holds a doctorate in educational administration and teacher leadership from Walden University, with his dissertation on the published work The Effectiveness of the SRA Corrective Reading Program for Middle Level Special Education Students.

Dr. Levatino is currently the Little Falls City School District Superintendent overseeing a district made up of 1,050 students and 200 faculty and staff. He serves as the instructional leader for the district, with a focus on academic programs for all learners, including, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) and CTE (Career Technical Education). His expertise extends to overseeing the school district budget process, professional development and school security and safety. He recently managed the district’s $29,000,000.00 (million) capital project. Two additional accomplishments are the initiation of a collaborative partnership between the school district and SUNY Poly, MVCC, HCCC, Utica University and local private businesses, as well as the implementation of a K-8 Engineering by Design Program.

Prior to his current role at Little Falls, Dr. Levatino was a Principal at the Perry Junior High School in New Hartford, NY. During his 12 years there, he worked in a collaborative manner with faculty and staff to lead the school to receive two prestigious awards; the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Blue Ribbon Award in 2008, and the New York State High Achieving/Gap closing award in 2007. He was also the Principal at Strough Junior High School in Rome, NY as well as for two summers he was a Summer High School Principal at Madison BOCES in Verona, NY. He served as an Assistant High School Principal at Rome Free Academy in Rome, NY. His love for teaching started when he was a Special Education Teacher at Strough Junior High School in Rome, NY.

In addition to these accomplishments, he is an adjunct lecturer of education at Utica University, received the PTA Lifetime Membership Award for the Leather Stocking Region, currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Central New York Health Home Network and is the Board of Directors Chair for ConnectEd.
